ABOUT US
LGBT-NCL is a project created by students of International Multimedia and Journalism at Newcastle University. The website aims to promote discussion about being LGBT in Newcastle.
For this project, we conducted a micro-study to gain insight and provide an overview of what it is like to live and work in a city with a visible LGBT community.
As students of international multimedia, we compared our findings from Newcastle with those of Nanjing and Shanghai.
Our research suggests that LGBT rights still have some way to go in particular parts of the world, even in 2018.
Behind every label is a unique story. We hope that we have provided some insight into this.
